ITSAZOO is excited to be presenting our largest and most challenging show to date, Young Jean Lee’s Straight White Men – a hilarious and provocative examination of white privilege, liberal guilt, and the definitions of success within the capitalist rat race.
We need your help to offer 150 discounted tickets to Straight White Men at $10 each. In order to achieve this we need to raise $3,000. The discounted tickets will be offered to specific communities: Indigenous groups, members of the LGBTQ2 community, low-income patrons and youth. This campaign will ensure that the high cost of theatre tickets won’t be a barrier for people who may not traditionally see a show at the Gateway Theatre.
This will also ensure a more diverse audience has the opportunity to witness and participate in our Talk Forward Series. Each performance will be followed by a facilitated discussion with a guest speaker about the identities explored in the play: Straightness, Whiteness and Maleness. With your help we can reach beyond the traditional Gateway audience to explore and discuss the provocative and insightful themes in this play.
Any donation, no matter how large or small, will help us get there. Plus, donations of $20 or more will qualify you for a tax receipt!
We know you’re busy, so we’ve made it super easy to donate. You can send us a cheque, made out to ITSAZOO Productions, to this address. Or you can donate online through Canada Helps.
Thanks for helping us engage communities with important conversations!
