ITSAZOO is proud (and little scared…) to present a staged reading of Lesley Ewen’s provocative new play Camera Obscura (hungry ghosts). We’re very excited to be partnering with The Frank Theatre, the West Coast’s premier queer theatre company, to present this visceral, explicit, and intense story, inspired by the life and work of legendary Vancouver artist Paul Wong.
During a career retrospective, a highly successful artist is visited by hungry ghosts from his past: the subject of his most celebrated piece and his former creative partner. These spectres force him to re-view his past actions, thus generating new understandings in the present, the release of old grief and a little bit of revenge.
