This year ITSAZOO continued to solidify its reputation as one of the most daring and inventive theater companies in Vancouver. Our production of The Competition is Fierce achieved our highest box office attendance ever, received polarizing reviews from critics and audiences alike (which, for us, is always a good thing!), and was honoured with 7 Jessie Richardson nominations. And, thanks to the generosity of our supporters during last year’s giving campaign, we fundraised enough money to rent office space at the Playwright’s Theatre Centre for an entire two years!
While we celebrate these strides, ITSAZOO still faces several administrative and fiscal challenges. With your help, there is a significant improvement we can make that will have an immediate and lasting impact on our future success. We need a designated company computer. Every time we produce a show a personal laptop is used to run all of the technical cues (audio, lights, projections, etc.) This means that we are unable to use a laptop for other work for the entire run of each show. This compromises our efficiency and puts our personal belongings at risk for a minimum of 6 weeks. Having a designated company computer will streamline our business operations during productions so we won’t have to choose between running a show and getting other work done.
Our goal is to raise a total of $1930 so we’ll be able to purchase a high quality computer and storage system that will last us for at least the next five years. This year we are asking for a modest donation from ITSAZOO supporters like you to help us achieve our next goal! Mail a cheque or cash to: ITSAZOO PRODUCTIONS, #10 – 410 West 12th Avenue, Vancouver, BC V5Y 1V3. Or pay by credit card at www.canadahelps.org. A tax receipt will be issued for all donation $25 and over.
No matter what you’re able to give, even if it’s just $5, and even if you can’t give anything, we want to genuinely thank you for helping ITSAZOO get to where we are today. We’re at a pivotal point of growth as a company and it’s only with the ongoing support of fans like yourself that we will be able to continue to provide you with theatre events like no other.
Sincerely,
The ZooCrew
