What began as a one-off night of live performance mirth and mayhem quickly evolved an on going variety show spanning three years. The first few incarnations were at Caffe deux Soleils on Commercial Drive but then 10×10 moved to the now defunct Spectral Theatre in the DTES which became its permanent home. Hosted by Co-Artistic Producer Sebastien Archibald and ITSAZOO Alumni Cameron Anderson, 10×10 was based on a simple model: 10 acts no longer than 10 minutes each. The rest was up to the artists: theatre, sketch, stand-up, music, PSAs, poetry, rants…basically everything but the kitchen sink. The event was not curated so the quality ranged from exceptional to abysmal; from whimsical to weird; from hilarious to horrifying. 10×10 was honored to have many of Vancouver’s, and Canada’s, best rising talent grace its stage, including: Peter n’ Chris, Sam Mullins, Pippa Mackie, Emilia Gordon, and Andrew Barbar.
